The Green Pocket started its journey in 2008.
It began with the summer camp - Fun Under the Sun. This was followed by the preschool - The Baby Nest in August 2009. Over the years, The Green Pocket has been host for many events, celebrations, kids parties, after school activities, social causes and a huge part of many memories. We took a big step when we started the nursery and daycare in 2014 and haven't look behind since. The latest addition to the The Green Pocket family is the in-house online library Our Story Shelf.

What you see today as a happy, vibrant yet calm little space for kids - TGP as you know it, was just a piece of land and lots of trees. We came up with the concept of “Fun Under the Sun" summer camp, when friends of mine encouraged me to start a camp to keep our kids busy and productive through their holidays!
We kept the place rustic and nature friendly. Introducing a few domestic and farm animals and with a kennel next door we became the one place in Bangalore where children would learn and play admist nature as well as interact and play with animals.

Soon we had kids from apartments near by who enjoyed their 5 minute morning pram ride to "The Green Pocket". The word got out and we soon had our first class in children eager to play and learn! Our biggest USP is that we are a 90% outdoor play school.

The ideas and inspiration for many of the activities came from my years of experience, training in a day care in Switzerland, 6 years as a Kindergarten teacher in Bishop Cotton Boys' School and a year in Neev.
My above work experiences and a degree in BSc-Integrated Home Science with Preschool Education as one of my subjects helped me design my curriculum and study material for our program.
We have touched the lives, hearts and souls of many babies, toddlers, children and their families. We are proud to say that the TGP family is growing as years go by.
